Each session is custom-tailored to your experience level, your rifle, and your goals. We won’t waste time in a classroom — this is hands-on, real-world training that gives you the tools to shoot with confidence at long range.

This is more than just pulling a trigger. You'll walk away understanding how to truly run your rifle at long range. Topics covered include:

  • Scope setup & leveling – ensuring your optic is square to your bore
  • Zeroing techniques – how to properly zero and verify at distance
  • MOA vs MIL – understanding reticles, subtensions, and scope tracking
  • First vs Second Focal Plane scopes – and how to use them effectively
  • Ballistics explained – G1 vs G7, bullet drop, flight time, and velocity decay
  • Kestrel & ballistic calculator setup – getting accurate real-world DOPE
  • Shooting positions – proper prone body alignment and recoil management
  • Trigger control & breathing discipline – reducing shooter-induced error
  • Wind reading fundamentals – using mirage, flags, and environmental clues
  • Mirage spotting – learning to see heat movement and directional flow
  • Target engagement process – spot, range, dial, shoot, confirm
  • Using a spotter – effective communication and impact correction
  • Rifle and ammo matching – twist rates, barrel length, and bullet stability

 Training Rates

Private 1-on-1 Long Range Rifle Session
$950
Includes: Range fee, coaching, custom lesson plan
Add rifle & ammo rental: +$450 (40 rounds of .375 Cheytac)
Additional coaching time if needed: $150/hour


Required Gear:

  • A scoped bolt-action rifle (If Bringing Your Own Rifle) chambered in .223 or larger (Cheytac, .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 WM, etc. welcome) if you bring .223 the bullet has to be 75gr or heavier
  • High-magnification optic (4x-10x minimum)
  • Match-grade ammunition
  • Recommended: 80–100 rounds (can provide if needed)
  • All rounds should be the same grain and loading
  • No tracers or incendiary ammo permitted
  • Owner’s manual for your scope (digital or printed)
  • Rifle rest or bipod (must be at least 9” tall)
  • Rear bag (sand sock, squeeze bag, or equivalent)
  • Ear and eye protection
  • Notebook and pen for logging DOPE and notes
  • Smartphone (for ballistic app recommendations or note taking)

Recommended Comfort Items:

  • Camp chair

Training takes place at a vetted long-range facility in Central Pennsylvania.
