Semi-automatic, closed-bolt version of the M249 SAW light machine gun, originally the FN MINIMI, which the U.S. military adopted in 1988. It is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO with FN's 18.5" cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel and accepts both linked belts and magazines.
