The Charlie TARAC is a periscope that optically adds elevation to your riflescope, from 0 up to 250 MRAD (850 MOA) depending on the model. It is the tool behind some of the longest confirmed rifle shots on record, and the choice when a prism is no longer enough.
Why shooters run it
- Adjustable: adds 0–250 MRAD (0–850 MOA) with a single optic (varies by model).*
- Raises the scope centerline (Macro 1.3", MK8/XD23 1.8"), adding elevation and lifting the image away from barrel and suppressor heat.
- Mirrors instead of prisms: no chromatic aberration, and the image is steered to the objective's center, which helps in low light.
- Breaks up the scope's outline, and its flat faces take camouflage tape.
- Interchangeable mounts. Night-vision and thermal compatible (behind the Charlie).
*Offsets beyond 90 MRAD (300 MOA) also need a Delta TARAC to offset the scope's line of sight.
Choosing a model
- Macro: rail or scope mount (convertible). Mechanically adjustable up to 250 MRAD (850 MOA); needs a tall target or digital level to reset.
- MK8: rail mount only. Dial offsets on the fly with a precision handle, 5–30 MRAD (20–100 MOA) per click, up to 210 MRAD (700 MOA).
- XD23: rail mount only. Built like the MK8 but starts where the MK8 ends: 210–400 MRAD (700–1400 MOA).
Rail mount is Bobro's toolless quick-detach, made to sit directly in front of a scope on 1.5" rings, and works on canted rails up to 35 MRAD (120 MOA). Choose No mount if you already have one. Scope mount (Macro only) attaches to the scope's objective (not the sunshade). It is scope-specific, needs 0.25" (6 mm) of clearance, and a digital level or plumb bob for first setup.

Calibration
Every Charlie is calibrated before it ships. Enter the offset you want in the Calibration field when you order: either match your total usable elevation, or pick a multiple of 5 or 10 to keep the mental arithmetic simple. The most common offsets are 30 MRAD and 100 MOA.
