What makes a good precision rifle? When can a platform truly be called a sniper rifle, or else one of the best long-range rifles?
Is it precision machining? A lapped, match-grade barrel? High adjustability and a crisp trigger? Suitable chambering?
It’s all of these things, and more, all of which are offered by the Victrix Armaments Kinetic, one of the best precision platforms out there. Let’s take a closer look at what it offers.
Unpacking the Victrix Armaments Kinetic Rifle Platform
The first thing to call attention to with this Victrix Armaments rifle platform is that it’s not just available in one (or a few) niche centerfire chamberings. One of the coolest things about it is that there is a .22LR variant available. There are also several centerfire variants, including those in .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor.
The point here is that the rifle itself is expensive enough. You don’t need to burn a 10 or even 20 dollar bill every time you pull the trigger on one of these precision rifles. In fact, if you go with the rimfire variant you can enjoy precision shooting at a very low price.
But, beyond that, the Victrix Armaments Kinetic is an excellent precision rifle, regardless.
The Kinetic is built around a high-strength monobloc chassis machined from a very light alloy. Despite the fact that it is low weight it is exceptionally strong and results in a lighter, more maneuverable platform.
Indeed this is a fairly light platform, especially for a precision rifle and certainly for a long-range rifle. The rimfire variant weighs only 17.3 lbs and the centerfire variant only 19.4 lbs, in both cases with the magazine but without a scope installed.
It’s also outfitted with a match-grade, lapped barrel with twist rates optimized for each caliber, and dependent thereby. Barrel length is 27” for the centerfire variants and 22” for the rimfire version.
The fact that the barrel is lapped is a big selling point here. Doing so results in a much smoother, more polished bore that has fewer microscopic aberrations. This not only results in a more consistent, more accurate rifle, but one that is easier to keep clean, as there is less surface area to harbor carbon or copper fouling.
In addition to yielding a much more accurate barrel (which is necessary in both precision rifles as well as in ELR rifles) a lapped barrel will experience less wear, especially when kept clean, resulting in longer barrel life as well.
Adjustability is also a key feature in any quality ELR or precision rifle, and the Kinetic is a poster case for this. The buttstock enables multiple vertical and horizontal adjustments via a button so adjustments can be made without tools in the field. This gives the platform the versatility to adapt to the dimensions of nearly any shooter in the field in mere moments.
The rifle platform also sports an insulated cheekpiece with a removable lower slider. Adjustments can be made effortlessly in the field for comb height or to adjust eye relief, and much more. The chassis even incorporates an adjustable thumb rest that will improve shooter comfort and reduce fatigue.
On the note of comfort, this rifle platform is outfitted with a zero-angle flat-top style AR grip that is interchangeable. It is comfortable, offers a precise level of control to reduce shooter fatigue and help boost accuracy, and, as stated, can be changed out.
Adding to its value, the Victrix Armaments Kinetic also has a reversible EVO button folding system that enables it to be folded to make it much more compact, enabling easier transport.
Going back to the chassis for a moment, it offers shooters the flexibility and modularity of an accessory attachment system so that shooting accessories can be easily attached, vastly expanding the capabilities of the rifle as a precision or long-range shooter. The rifle is also outfitted with a 20 MoA removable rail made of a light alloy, for mounting optics.
The chassis also features an integrated barricade stop that gives it the flexibility to use walls and barriers as makeshift shooting rests, a critical feature in a precision rifle that’s intended to be used in the real world.
As far as expandability is concerned, the rifle platform also has an integrated full-length Anschutz-style rail as well as a lower ARCA rail.
Now let’s zoom in on the action. In the centerfire variant, the rifle is equipped with an AISI 630 short action milled from a billet, and outfitted with a bolt with three asymmetrical lugs, with a bolt lever.
The rimfire version has a one-piece bolt with two lugs, a double extractor, and a quick disassembly design for easy maintenance.
Both rifles are outfitted with a Victrix Armaments adjustable single stage trigger that sports a two-position safety.
The action and bolt of these rifles are finished with a PVD finish that is attractive and sleek, and which is not only easy to keep clean, but low maintenance in and of itself. It also protects the action and bolt from wear and corrosion.

All in all, these are excellent precision rifles, and depending on chambering can be suitable for hunting (as in the case of the .308 Winchester and .65 Creedmoor variants). They are highly adjustable, accurate, and remarkably versatile and expandable, making them among the best precision rifles on the market currently.
One more thing; for the price of these rifles, you get the benefit of an included case for transportation.
